The first and foremost rule of selling for any person or business is to ALWAYS take care of the customer. The customer is the most important part of any business and if you treat your customers well then you will be treated well in return.

You should never think about the sale when selling something, instead work on building a long tern relationship with your customers and clients. When you work on building a relationship instead of working on selling a product everyone benefits. When you think of only making a quick sale then no one benefits. If you look at all the successful companies out there, what do you see that sets them apart from the competition? They respect and take care of their customers. We're all customers so we all value respect. Follow this golden rule of business and you will always succeed.
